Welcome To Tohono O’odham Nation Health Care

Environmental Health

Rooted in Himdag, guided by tradition, committed to well-being. Tohono O’odham Nation Health Care supports our community with trusted services, close to home.

The Tohono O’odham Nation Environmental Health Department (EHD) works to protect public health through inspections, training, code enforcement, and environmental health investigations. EHD conducts facility and homesite inspections, responds to environmental health concerns and food-borne illnesses, conducts rabies investigations and annual rabies vaccination clinics, and provides trainings including food handler safety, home sanitation, car-seat installation, lead prevention, injury prevention, and other environmental health-related topics. The program supports community health by ensuring safe food practices and sanitary conditions; requests, questions, or public health complaints may be emailed to TONHC_EHD@tonation-nsn.gov.
